Hi!Shovel is back....well....what a week....

I have been working on some motion testings and adjusting my story plot a bit this week. I have removed the family relationship between Toru and two cats....Then it will be easier to understand the cats is searching for Toru for a more directional reason----make Toru complete.

In this blog will include:

FISH

Neon Tetra(ネオン・テトラ)has been appeared in many anime stories such as 'Perfect Blue' and 'Sweet Pool'. I asked someone who familiar with Japanese Culture, then I found that Japanese likes using nature element as a symbol to represent different message, like plants, animals and fish. Neon Tetra in Japanese means 'Over drink(飲み過ぎ)'. When you drink too much liquid, you might feel dizzy and puke. This feeling is related to pressure and confusion.

'Pale(/Tearian)'is the story about painful and grow up. So I think Neon Tetra suits my story and will become one of the significant symbol in the narration design.

Bird

Bird represents 'Freedom' and 'Joyful'. Toru enjoy having a friend like the robin bird, but he accidentally kill him at the end. I joke about 'Who kill the robin bird' in this story.

Cat

Some country said black cat brings bad luck and some say it protects the soul. Whether what side it is, black cats still related to 'Death'. In the story, the cats are the soul of Toru but they just separate each other at the beginning. I make it two cats because I believe human has more than one soul which help us to criticized kindness and evil. So sometime we argue to ourselves or hard to make a accurate decision.

Other reason of making two cats because I want to highlight only Toru is alone.

Motion Testing

In last week, I have shown some model I have done. Then I rig the mesh and see whether it's working....Then I found that the legs are too long....I will adjust it before the actual production.

Here's I have done the model sheet of Toru and see how would the fish jar move.

Also the front view walk cycle. Toru lives underwater, but I don't want him to swim all the time. So I let him walk slowly and his hand is like pushing out some water.

Finally, here's some concept art I have done before I came out the actual story.....well....to be honest I have adjust the plot again and again for almost one year......It's cool I finally got the way out!
